Registering of name
-
I started to create a wordpress.com site for my daughter – thatgirlanna.wordpress.com and during the process my link was disconnected. I then tried again and got a message that this was already reserved. Can someone check who this name is registered for and if I can still get to register it for my daughter.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is less likely that someone else grabbed the same blog while you are creating it. I don’t say it is not possible but it is very rare.
Do you, by any chance, see your daughter’s site in the lists of your sites at https://wordpress.com/sites ? Login with your used id, if not already.

Hi Chaitanyamsv, no I don’t see the name thatgirlanna.wordpress.com in the list of my sites and if I try to create it I get the message that this name is already reserved. Where do I go from here?
-
When I go to https://thatgirlanna.wordpress.com/ there’s already a site there. Also, there appears to be a Gravatar profile for the username thatgirlanna, which means the matching URL would have been reserved for that person. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#additional-info
You could try contacting the owner of that site if they have comments enabled and ask if they will transfer the site to you, but it might be simpler to just try and register a different address.

I quickly checked and the site does have comments enabled on the About page. That’s really your only option to get ownership of the address, but it’s no guarantee as the owner might net even have access to that site anymore.
