Registering WordPress Account to be Contributor on Existing Blog
-
I’m wondering if anyone has created an account without a blog before and just created an account to be a contributor on an existing blog.
I have a blog that I want to share with a number of friends who don’t have wordpress accounts. I’ve used the “invite” feature and checked “Add user to my blog as a contributor”. One of them has tried following the invitation from their email but it ends up to be the normal registration form where they can’t continue unless they fill in a new unique domain name. I have quite a few friends I want to invite, I hate to create unnecessary domains that can’t be used again… Does anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks!

Yep, I’ve done it repeatedly. At the bottom of that registration page, there is the option “Just give me an account” and that’s the one they should choose. THey may have to scroll down, which is a shame.

One has to wonder if the “scrolling down” to see that option isn’t on purpose.
A new conspiracy theory?
