Registrant E-mail Address not Sending and can't change Nameserver
-
I am trying to switch hosts to blue host. When I got to change my name servers, WordPress.com tells me I can’t because “you must verify your registrant email address”. I’ve had the verification sent to me about 10 times and I don’t seem to get it. I’ve checked my spam and triple checked my e-mail address.
Could someone please help me?

Hi there,
I checked our records, and I see that the email address you used to register your domain isn’t the same email address as the one linked to your WordPress.com account. (These aren’t necessarily the same email address.) Could you double-check the email address listed for your domain in the domain manager to make sure it’s correct?
You can check and update that email address (and other contact information) with this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/#update-contact-information
If the correct email address is listed in your domain manager and you’re still not getting that email, please let me know and I can investigate this for you!

Hi Rachel,
I double checked the e-mail and it is 100% correct. (email visible only to moderators and staff) is the correct e-mail.
I keep sending myself the e-mail and I’m not getting it!! I don’t know why. I took a screen shot if you want me to e-mail.
Thanks,

Hi Erica,
I see a different email address listed for your domain registration in our system (it looks like it’s missing one of the numbers in your correct email address), so there may be an issue there.
A screenshot would really help — can you upload it to your blog’s dashboard under Media > Add New or email it as an attachment? Just let me know once you’ve done that and I’ll take a look. Thanks!

I uploaded it. I know the e-mail is one number off, it was a mistake. The person who set it up typed it wrong! Can you fix that?

Hi Erica,
Thanks for that screenshot; that helps me understand what’s going on. I’m checking with our team to make sure that’s the email address the verification email is being sent to, rather than the email address with the typo.
In the meantime, since it’s a Gmail address, can you double check to see if the email ended up in Gmail’s Social or Promotion tabs? (You mentioned that you already checked your spam, so I just want to make sure the email isn’t hiding somewhere else in your Gmail account.) Thanks!

I checked every tab and I even got the (email visible only to moderators and staff) address so I could test to see if it was going there. It’s not!
Any ideas? Could you put the name servers in for me? It’s blue host

Hi Rachel,
I was able to confirm my e-mail and change the name servers however they still aren’t changing! I put in the new bluehost name servers and it says it will take a few moments. It still says the wordpress name servers. It’s been a few hours. I know it can take about 24 hours to be totally complete, but usually propagates quicker.
Will it not say my new name servers until it’s 100% done?
Thanks,
Erica -
Hi Erica,
Whew! I’m glad you got the confirmation email and that worked out. :)
I just checked your domain, and I’m having trouble updating your name servers to point to Bluehost, too. Sorry about that! I’m checking with our domain registrar partner to find out what’s going on.
If you’d rather not wait, another option is to just transfer your domain registration over to Bluehost. It may be easier to have your domain registration and website hosting all in one place. In that case, you can use this guide to transfer your domain: Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

Hi Rachel,
I did all of that like 4 days ago. It says on blue host that it is pending approval from wild wild west. Should I try doing it again? I can send you a screen shot of what blue host screen says.
Please let me know. Thanks!!

Hi Erica,
If you already started the domain transfer, that’s what is blocking the nameserver change. You’ll need to wait until the domain is transferred to Bluehost before you can make further changes to the nameservers or other domain settings.
I just checked your domain again, and there aren’t any pending transfers listed there. If the transfer doesn’t finish in the next day or so, you may need to try doing the transfer again. I just resent you the EPP (transfer authorization) code so you can try the transfer again if you need.
Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)

Hi Erica, I just saw the screenshots you sent in via email as well. I took a look at the domain name and the registration information shows to be with Bluehost now. Did you end up getting this all sorted out?
Let me know if you have any other questions.
