Registrant emaill address not visible in whois lookup for domain transfer

  I’m trying to transfer my domain from WordPress to another registrar. I have removed privacy, I have unlocked the domain and I have passed on the authorisation code to the new registrar.

  However, the new registrar has contacted me, saying that it can’t proceed with the transfer because the email address of the registrant (me!) is not visible in a whois lookup. Indeed, when I perform a lookup, I see my email address under the contact details for Admin and Tech, but under the details for Registrant, there is no email address listed.

  I have checked that there is an email address in the domain management section.

  My new webhosting company (registrar) suggests contacting WordPress, but that seems impossible. I don’t know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.

  Howdy,

  That’s actually very typical (for the registrant information not to be visible on a whois lookup). I’m contacting our domain provider for further guidance on this.
