-
I just renewed transnationaldistancelearning.com. After paying you, I received the following message from (email visible only to moderators and staff),
To Robert Hogan,
The transfer and renewal of your domain name, transnationaldistancelearning.com is not yet complete at this time.
Reason:
——-
1) The Domain name is currently in a “REGISTRAR-LOCK” status with your current registrar WILD WEST DOMAINS, LLC
2) We require that you provide us with an EPP Key/Authorization Code from your current registrarIn order to complete the transfer and renewal, the “REGISTRAR-LOCK” status needs to be removed and an EPP Key/Authorization code needs to be obtained. Please see below for instructions on achieving this.
Solution:
———
– Log into your account with your current registrar, WILD WEST DOMAINS, LLC, and change the status of your domain, transnationaldistancelearning.com, from “locked” to “active”.
– Then look for the EPP Key or Authorization Code.Alternate Solution:
———
– Call your current registrar, WILD WEST DOMAINS, LLC, and ask them to remove the lock status of your domain name and provide you with your EPP Key.– Once done please notify us that you have done so, by clicking on the link below.

Hi Robert,
I don’t see any recent transaction on your account for the renewal of transnationaldistancelearning.com. Additionally, the email address you mention, (email visible only to moderators and staff), isn’t related to WordPress.com. Can you try renewing your domain from your Upgrades page here?

Alternatively, if you were attempting to do something else like transfer your domain, please let me know, and I’ll troubleshoot further!

Dear Jeremy,
I received the renewal notice online for transnationaldistancelearning.com and paid it by AMEX on May 7. My statement says it was paid to Domain Registry DOMABUFFALO NY.
No, I do not want to transfer my domain from WordPress. I just the domain to continue. At this moment, I am out $35.
Would appreciate your help,
Bob Hogan

Hey Bob,
That’s odd. First, WordPress.com transactions would appear on your statement as WP-FEE. Also, the cost for your domain is only $18 (not $35). Lastly, your domain is not set to expire until 8/4/14 so the earliest you would be charged would be 7/4/14.
Do you potentially have another blog or domain that this charge could be in reference to?

Hey Jeremy,
You see the notice that i need to change status of my domain from locked to active and then to get an EPP key. I have no idea what they are talking about.
I received notice that it was time to renew. I did and then got that follow up notice. Have you anything like this before. I want remain with with WordPress.
I am particularly concerned after post that this other company may be a scam. I’ll notify Amex, but I wanted to check with first.
Thank you

Hey Robert,
That’s the messaging you would receive if you were trying to transfer your domain to another registrar, but it doesn’t seem like that’s what you’re looking to do.
Again, I’ve searched our payment records, and I don’t see a recent purchase from you for your domain name renewal. Can you do me a favor and upload a screenshot of the two emails (the one asking for payment and the other asking for the unlock) to your Media Library so I can take a look? Note, you do not need to include any of the email headers, just the body of the text. If the emails happen to include any personal details of the transaction (credit card number for instance), please omit that as well.

Hey Robert,
Just received your contact through my site. I’m glad we got to the bottom of this! Please let me know if you need anything else from me.
