Registrar Transfer Denied

    Hello,
    I am trying to transfer my domain to WordPress to Wix. I have started the process and received this email:

    Dear Phil Surtees,

    The request to transfer the following domain name(s) to another registrar has been denied. The domain(s) currently has Private Registration:

    philsurteesmusic.com

    If you still want to transfer the domain(s) to another registrar, you must first cancel your Private Registration(s).

    I emailed (email visible only to moderators and staff) and received received an auto-reply saying they no longer provided email support and a list of phone numbers. I called the number for US and ended up speaking to someone who said they were from GoDaddy?

    What is going on please?

    I’ve tried this twice – I believe my privacy settings to be correct to complete this…

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    Emails from (email visible only to moderators and staff) are from us. This email address sends information regarding your domain, like the one you received.

    Private domain registration, or privacy protection, ensures that your domain contact information is not readily available to the general public. WordPress.com automatically activates privacy protection on applicable domains at no additional charge.

    Private registration is still currently active on your philsurteesmusic.com domain. You can remove this by following the steps in our guide at https://wordpress.com/support/domains/private-domain-registration/#deactivate-privacy-protection

    Thank you, I have found the correct privacy to turn off. I have tried the transfer again and assume it will work this time.

    FYI in your instructions it says: “When you initiate the domain transfer, we automatically deactivate privacy protection as part of the process.”

    This does not appear to be true.
