  I would like commenters to register before allowing them to comment. How to do that?

  Hi there,
  
  From the WordPress.com dashboard, go to Settings > Discussion and enable Users must be registered and logged in to comment.

  

  That should only allow those registered as WordPress.com users and logged into their accounts to comment on your site.
