registration for community

  I would like to know if there’s a possibility that members of my community could register to my blog and further login to make comments with their community nick name. My block is for members of an online game which was communicated in a forum until now. To see which member wrote a comment on my blog it would be useful to sign in. People who are not member of the game may also visit my blog, so it should not be privat. I’m using wordpress.com, so Plugins won’t work, right?

  Hey Marph,

  You’re correct in that plugins are not allowed at WordPress.com. The closest option to what you described would be to force commenters to login to comment via your Discussion Settings as explained here (under “User must be registered and logged in to comment”):

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#other-comment-settings

  However, that would be a WordPress.com registration, not a site-specific registration. Would that work for what you’re looking for?

  Hi,

  thank you very much! I think that the possibility to register to wordpress would be enough for me. I’ve put 2 links on my blog, one for register and one for login. Those people who will give frequently comments can simply create a wordpress account.
