Reimporting Sample Text

So I had previously installed the sample data to figure out how I wanted my website to work/look. I came home today and found someone had been on my laptop and deleted the pages and posts that were created with the sample data.
I thought Oh, Ok, I’ll just reimport it.
Nothing happened, it says all of these files have successfully imported, but my website is still a blank template.
I tried reinstalling my theme fresh and taking the sample data from the new install. Still empty.
I am very new at this whole WordPress game.
Any help would be appreciated.
