Reinstate site

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

My housemate has created a temporary site for me to work on the content for my webpage. I haven’t logged in for a couple of month and it has been deleted. He said that’s normal after it hasn’t been used. If I’d provide the login details and email, would you be able to re-instate it, since I lost some of the content?

    Best,

    Susanne

Hi there, can you share the address of the site you need help with? Once we know that we can point you in the right direction for support.

Just to clarify, sites hosted on WordPress.com do not expire regardless of the last time you posted. The only way to delete a site is if the site administrator deletes it.

    Hi Jennifer,

it seems that the host site had been deleted. I just created a new one with the same URL http://boehnerbrighton.infinityfreeapp.com

Can I use this to reinstate me wordpress?

Hello again, Unfortunately we won’t be able to assist you with this here as that site is not hosted on the WordPress.com platform ( where we are). You would need to check with your friend or your hosting provider to see if they created any site backups for you.

Make sure to keep your log-in information confidential regardless of where you post for assistance.

For general help with using the WP open source software, the place to go would be https://wordpress.org/support where you’ll find documentation and users who have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.

WPcom (where we are ) and WP are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    Best wishes.
