"Related posts" stopped working

  Hi, I’m using WordPress.com with the Synthax theme. My URL is http://www.indogermanisch.com.
  Till yesterday, the “related posts” function that I had chosen under Settings-Reading-“Related Posts” worked perfectly fine. Then, it suddenly stopped working. It doesn’t work on my iPad or mobile, either.

  Please help.

  Hi Norbert!

  After looking into your site, I found that Related Posts was working as seen here:

  http://indogermanisch.com/2012/08/24/der-yogi-und-das-fleisch/

  Please note that the Related Posts feature does depend on posts with a fair amount of words (around 200-300) so that our system has a good base to determine what other posts may be related. If the posts have less than that, then featured posts won’t appear to ensure the system selections are actually related.

  Hi Grace,

  unfortunately, your example is the exception. The “related posts” function stopped working with blog articles it had worked with before.

  Most of my texts exceed a word count of 400, but still, “related posts” don’t show up any more.

  For instance:
  http://indogermanisch.com/2014/03/03/warum-das-mit-der-liebe-so-schwierig-ist/ (530 words)

  http://indogermanisch.com/2014/03/25/wikinger-voodoo-und-heilige-fake-oder-religion/ (360 words)

  http://indogermanisch.com/2014/02/05/warum-buddhistische-monche-mit-pistolen-spielen (520 words)

  All of the texts mentioned above worked with “related posts” before — now, they don’t.

  Please help, as this function really works as a major benefit for my subscribers.

  Hi Norbert,

  Please note that this is still a work in progress.

  It is not just word count that is taken into consideration (that is necessary) – relatedness of the post currently takes into account the post title, content, tags and categories. We have developers constantly tweaking the algorithm to improve results.

  I looked into those posts you provided and they were all uncategorized, and the tags did not match any other posts. Try adding those and if they are matching other posts it should show up.
