Relationship data — XFN — not published in my blog

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

    When I add an individual to my blogroll the user interface on WordPress.com gives me the ability to designate the individual as friend, co-worker, etc. I recognize these as XFN values (XFN = XHTML Friends Network). According to the XFN specification, these relationship values should be placed on the link, in a rel attribute, e.g.

    After adding the individual to my blogroll I see a web page containing the link to the new individual. But when I do View >> Page Source on that web page I do not see the XFN stuff on the link. For example, here is a link on my blogroll:

    adambosworth.wordpress.com

    Notice that there is no rel=”…” on the link.

    Someone suggested that perhaps “the WordPress theme your blog is using doesn’t publish the
    XFN data” Is that true? If so, is there a theme that I can switch to which does publish the XFN data?

    Thanks! /Roger

    Sorry, I forgot to escape the code:

    <a href="..." rel="friend co-worker">

    Yikes, let me try again:

    … For example, here is a link on my blogroll:

    <a href='http://adambosworth.wordpress.com/' title='Visit Adam Bosworth’s Weblog'>adambosworth.wordpress.com</a>
