  Why can I not add a rel=canonical tag to my Word Press blog post?

  Hi Carlos, for security reasons, WordPress.com cannot allow users to add rel=canonical tags.

  If you wish to have more control over SEO plugins, you may consider switching to a self-hosted site via WordPress.org. You will have more flexibility to add the coding you desire.

  How much will I lose in terms of URL history if I change from WP.com to WP.org?

  Does WP update automatically the URLs to redirect? Or must I do this myself?
