Release a domain name

I had a domain name ‘theproperstitcher.com’ through wordpress, but cancelled the domain to create a self hosted site. I now need to have the domain name again to assign to a self hosted site. I made a mistake and should have just transferred it to self hosted site instead of cancelling. Can you please advise me how to get this domain name back? WordPress still has it, but I would like to have it released or reassigned to me so I can have a self hosted site.

Hey Annie, I went ahead and redacted your number just so no one calls you pretending to be us. We aren’t in a call center.
When you cancel a new domain it will go into holding for a bit. Please let us know which of these options works best for you:
Wait: You can wait about five days for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again here or with another provider. (I’d recommend this if you’re okay getting started with your site now using a temp domain, then adding the domain in a few days)
Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.

It looks like too much time has passed for us to be able to restore theproperstitcher.com to your account. As @supernovia mentioned, you have 5 days from the date of cancellation (4/26) to recover the domain and if not it is sent back to the registry to go on sale to the public.
Looks like you are in the brief period between those two options. We cannot recover, but also it has not gone on sale again yet.
However, within the next 24 hours you should be able to purchase theproperstitcher.com from your new host without issue.

I am still not able to purchase this domain name. Can you tell me if it is in holding? It is hard to believe that someone else purchased the domain name.
