Release deleted address for reuse
-
Hello, I created a blog today, and ran into some formatting issues. I thought the fastest way to start over fresh would be to delete the site and recreate it. When I read the warning about being unable to use the website address, I did not realize it meant that the address would be permanently reserved even though the site was deleted, meaning I am unable to recreate the site. I instead understood the warning to mean the address site would be simply deleted along with the site, which seemed obvious. After further reading, I see that there’s a 2 year waiting period before an address is released for recycle due to privacy issues. Since there are no privacy issues here, is it possible to release vanlifemantra.wordpress.com for reuse so I can start over, please? Thank you.

https://vanlifemantra.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.
Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
From https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/You cannot register any deleted blog URL here at wordpress.COM. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Yes, there are multiple warnings and confirmations that the content will be permanently gone, which I fine with, but all the warnings were not stating clearly that the address would be locked down for 2 years.
