release domain

  Hi
  THe domain manitoulinhomecare.com which was just cancelled as well as hosting refunded, is still sitting with you pending deletion. Can I have it moved to WIx or released please? Is there a fee for this?

  Hey there,

  You canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5 day grace period.

  We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5 day period, but after that, we no longer have control over it. So, since you want the domain registered with Wix, you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered. You can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until 60 days of registration hits (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications. Let me know.

  HI D and thank you for getting back to me.
  ok can you please tell me how I can change the dns info, I dont see the domain listed there i only see manitoulinhomecare.wordpress.com and not manitoulinhomecare.com.
  It is marked for deletion i was told since being refunded for the hosting as well.
  Im lost ;(

  can I just pay you guys for the domain and point it to wix.com for now, I am so willing to do that, but getting a hold of a person is hard, so please dont let go of me LOL.

  Sure thing. We’ve just sent an invoice. And to be clear you do have two options:

  1. pay the invoice then update us right away so we can restore the domain, then you point it using these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/change-name-servers/

  2. Wait it out for the domain to be released. Since it’s a newer registration and you cancelled right away, it’ll typically be released within 5 days.

  If you decide to do the second option, please let us know and we’ll remove the invoice.

  Or, for the first one, just reply here once that’s done and we’ll restore it for you.
