Releasing or transferring domain name
-
I created a second user on WordPress so that I would be able to keep the work blog separate from my personal blogs.
Unfortunately I then realized that being registered to different accounts meant that I couldn’t get the work account to automatically post to the facebook business page that I already set up.
Now I have set the work account as admin for the blog that I am hosting on this user so that my personal gravatar is not used for the work posts.
However, the name I originally wanted is still reserved by the second account, even though I completely deleted the domain and blog in the second account.
Would it be possible to free up that domain name and move the blog that I have so far set up over to the domain name I originally wanted?
Unfortunately I already deleted the blog with the work account, so I can’t simply transfer the blog – which would have probably been the easiest and best option had I known about it before I deleted it.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you please be more specific, i.e. provide the actual addresses and usernames you’re speaking of? It’s impossible to give you an accurate answer without that information.
However, the name I originally wanted is still reserved by the second account, even though I completely deleted the domain and blog in the second account.
If you’ve deleted a free WordPress.com address, that address is now gone. As the warnings on the delete blog page said, deleted addresses cannot be used again. While a site still exists you can transfer it to another username, but once you delete it there’s nothing we can do.

Oh well… I was hoping since it was only online for a day.
The blog I stupidly deleted is: 20minutenessen.wordpress.com
I am currently using: 20minutenessenblog.wordpress.com
Both were set to private as I’m still not ready to publish them to the world yet.
The other user account is: 20MinutenEssen
