remapped a domain name and now it does not work

This is what Fat Cow sent me where I originally purchased the domain name.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Your domain joeinfocus.com is hosted with WORDPRESS.COM. So, you may want to update the zone files at WORDPRESS.COM’s server, since the records updated on our server will not be updated properly unless the hosting is with us. For website related issues you can contact your hosting service provider and request for a fix.

The blog I need help with is With A Little Help From My Friends – http://www.joeinfocus.com not thevisualchronicle.com

    Hey there, Joe!

I’m a little confused…joeinfocus.com is not registered here. As you can see from your public domain records, it is registered through fatcow.com:
    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=joeinfocus.com

I don’t want to play support-staff ping pong and send you back over to fatcow.com, if it’s possible I can assist…

Could you please let me know your goal? Are you hoping to map your domain to your WordPress.com site? Or are you trying to map it to a self-hosted site?

Currently, the domain mapped to joeinfocus.wordpress.com is thevisualchronicle.com. There aren’t any others that I see.

You can even view, in your billing history, that you’ve mapped your domain to your WordPress.com site, but never registered it here:

    https://joeinfocus.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=billing-history&user=39640835

I’d like to be of more assistance, so if you need any other help, or information, please do let me know.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

    Hi Robyn,

I remapped thevisualchronicle.com to http://joeinfocus.wordpress.com and that worked. The http://www.joeinfocus.com should not be mapped to The Visual Chronicle

Maybe I should just get a refund on the remapping of http://www.joeinfocus.com because I was trying to remap it to a new blog titled With A Little help From My Friends which looks like it uses wwwjoeinfocus.wordpress.com (this is not a typo there is no dot after www). I explained it the best I could understand it so i hope you can help.

The reason I contacted Fat Cow in the first place was to change a DNS setting. This message came from WordPress when I remapped http://www.joeinfocus.com

    http://www.joeinfocus.com 14400 IN CNAME wwwjoeinfocus.wordpress.com

They in turn responded with the message i sent you in the previous email.

    HELP, LOL

    Hey Joe!

I took a look at the WordPress.com site you mentioned: wwwjoeinfocus.wordpress.com.

I see that you deleted it.

Since you no longer can make use of a domain mapping upgrade to this deleted site, I’ve removed the upgrade and refunded you $13.

I remapped thevisualchronicle.com to http://joeinfocus.wordpress.com and that worked. The http://www.joeinfocus.com should not be mapped to The Visual Chronicle

That mapping connection looks great. When I visit the domain, I do see your WordPress.com site. Are you all set with this? Let me know!

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!
