Remapped domain to WP, lost email accounts, need urgent help
-
Hello,
I’ve just mapped a WordPress blog onto a pre-existing domain. I’ve done this on other accounts before and not had a problem with the associated email accounts transferring over, but the four accounts associated with this domain name, while still showing up with my domain registrar, are no longer auto-forwarding to the users’ webmail accounts.
I know this is my fault for not checking the DNS settings, but I was working to a deadline and hadn’t had a problem with other sites. Feeling very stupid now.
I’d rather not remap the emails to Google Apps, as they all auto-forward to pre-existing Gmail accounts and all three users prefer running them from their everyday accounts rather than logging in and out to check them.
We have a very big moment for WPM coming up on Thursday, and we really need the email to be back by then. My domain registrar (1and1) has told me I can reset the DNS with them, but would this mean having to repurchase the WordPress domain mapping package?
Your help very, very much appreciated,
Kirstin Innes

I’ve got MX codes from 1and1:
Mail server 1: mx01.1and1.co.uk, 10
Mail server 2: mx00.1and1.co.uk, 10The only acceptable way to reconfigure this on WP is apparently
MX 1 1and1.co.uk10.
but it’s not having any effect – still no email. -

Thank you – have done. Nothing happening as yet – should it be instant?
A friend of mine has had a look in both sites and says that they simply aren’t compatible – that there’s no way of transferring a 1and1 email over to WordPress. Is this correct? I’ve been trying to set up a Google App to the site, but none of the verification methods are working. -
It’s possible that it may take a few hours to work.
If it doesn’t, please try Google Apps for Domains following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
