Remapping Domain

  Hello,

  I used to have a wordpress blog called blondescarlett.com with a domain purchased from Go Daddy that I pointed to wordpress. However, I deleted this blog when I knew that I wanted to focus on a something else. I am trying to start a new blog under the same domain (blondescarlett.com), which I own. WordPress keeps telling me that I must pick another domain, but that one is already mapped to wordpress. How do I go about fixing this so that I can still use the blondescarlett.com domain?

  The staff will need to clear or transfer the domain mapping – I have flagged this for the staff to help – was the domain mapping under the account you are logged in here with?

  What is the base WordPress.COM blog you want to map blondescarlett.com to?

  Hey thanks for flagging the post and for the response! The domain mapping is under the account that I am logged in with. What do you mean by base WordPress blog? I have yet to create another blog, because it will not let me use the domain that I want.

  Domain mapping is attached to a specific blog – such as blondescarlettdotcom.wordpress.com/ that you created but has no content – If your domain mapping has not yet expired it can be transferred to another blog – but the staff would need to know that blog name

  Gotcha. Then it would be blondescarlett.wordpress.com.

  I’m sorry, but http://blondescarlett.wordpress.com/ cannot be restored or reused. Deleting a blog is permanent and the name cannot be used again. There are several warnings about this on the Tools -> Delete Site page and in the help pages, and you are required to confirm the deletion by email.

  Delete a Website

  You can start a new blog by logging in to WordPress.com and then going to http://en.wordpress.com/signup/

  With any blog, you can also use your custom domain with Domain Mapping upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  I could transfer the domain to http://blonde-scarlett.com/ instead. Both domains will remain active on the blog, but this is the only blog under your account that has not been deleted.

  Thanks for the response! I ended up just starting a new blog and purchasing another domain — blonde-scarlett.com. I am now working on that.
