Remapping Domain to Format or Squarespace

  I am looking into buying my domain name for my wordpress.com account. However, I believe I will want to switch to Format or Squarespace in the future while still maintaining the wordpress domain as only a blog but with a different URL later. I would like to know:

  1) Can I remap my wordpress domain (once purchased) to Squarespace or Format so that I can keep the same domain name?

  2) If yes then can I change the name of my wordpress domain after I use it with Squarespace or Format so that I can use wordpress exclusively for a blog?

  I’m not sure if this all made sense. I sure hope it did!
