    Hi,

How can I create a thread in my blog here and have it published to a location on another website(ex: http://www.mysite.com/blog)?

    Thank you
    gmstaff

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You could add an RSS widget on the other site.

If you mean putting the same post on two different blogs, that is not automatically possible here at wordpress.COM since that is a typical tactic of spam bloggers and wordpress.COM does not support spam blogging.

The other think you need to be aware of is that having duplicate content on the web (such as the same things posted on two blogs) will cause you to lose search engine ranking. Search engines look for that sort of thing, and when they find it, they will discount the rating on all blogs with the duplicate content since again, that is a typical tactic of spam bloggers and search engines look down on that sort of activity.

Alternatively, if you have a Twitter account you could use a Twitter Widget on your second website. That way each post you make on your first website will be automatically visible (a link to the post, that is) on your second website.

    Hi, thesacredpath and starcraftadventures:

    Thank you for your response.

The reason for this thread is that we are thinking to move our blog from Blogger. Currently, we use “Publishing via FTP” of Blogger. I’ve read some articles regarding this migration. But all of them require the installation of WordPress and MySQL on the server where the blog files will be physically located. Plus, none of the articles mentions that how to publish a new thread from WordPress.com top the customized URL.

That’s what confused me. I logged on my WordPress.com account and did not see the way that allow me to post a thread on WordPress.com and publish it to a specific URL. If what thesacredpath stated is true, those articles about migration from Blogger FTP publishing to WordPress.com just do not make much sense because we cannot post new threads and publish them after the migration.

Here is a list of some articles:
    1. Migrating from Blogger (esp FTP) to WordPress:

    2. Migrating from Blogger to WordPress (FTP blogs):

    3. FTP publishing on Blogger to WordPress: Migration guide:

I guess I miss something here. Please give me some help.

    Thank you

Any article that mentions installing WordPress is referring to self-hosted WordPress. The forums for self-hosted WordPress are at WordPress.ORG.

Here at WordPress.com, we do not and cannot install software.

You’re welcome, and all the best with your migration to WP.
