Remote Publishing XML-RPC no longer working

  For years I have been posting to my site on WordPress.com using XML-RPC remote publish option just recently, last couple weeks these attempts to publish are being rejected by WP, seems rejects are returned with 403. This started first with HTTPS addresses on WP but is now reported if trying to publish to regular HTTP addresses. XML-RPC appears to be working fine for clients using wordpress.org. What’s up? What changed with XML-RPC on WordPress.com

  Fix has been found, user-agent needs to be passed as well, this was not required previously and as of this writing undocumented.
