Removal of Bad sites
-
I have several sites on my list of sites that no longer exist or my authority has been removed. Yet they still how up on my list. Can I get all but the one in my name removed from the list of sites?

I believe I have removed the ones you are looking to have removed. Please take a look and double check.

Yes! Thank you. Can you also remove the one for beat5boys. That is no longer legit either.
Really appreciate this.

HI,
Id like to start a new wordpress site, but can see the name I’d like has been taken by someone else. However when checking the site, there have been no updates or content created. How can I tell if its a new site or old site? If it was created some time ago with no content updates, can i request for it to be handed back for me to use? Is their any protocol around securing site names and then not using them?
Thanks -

We do not reuse or reassign blog names on WordPress.com. Please refer to this support page for more information:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
If you like, you can attempt to contact the owner of that blog and ask them if they would like to transfer it to you. You can do this by either leaving them a message using a contact form, if one exists on their site, or by leaving a comment on an existing page or post requesting they contact you.
If you are able to reach the blog owner and they are willing to transfer the blog to you, here are the instructions they can use to do that:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
If they do not respond or refuse the transfer, you will need to select a different name for your WordPress.com blog.
Keep in mind, we also offer an upgrade for custom domain names and you can use any WordPress.com blog URL underneath a custom domain. For more details about how domain mapping works, see this guide:
