Removal of email from Gravatar

That’s it in the topic title, how can I remove a photo and an email from
Gravatar – you can add, but I can’t see anywhere on the site that you can remove and conveniently, their support is ‘closed.’ Yippee! Appreciate some help.

Sure, no problem. If you add a second email address, you can then make that new address your ‘Primary address’ which will allow you to delete your original primary email address. (You always need to have a working Primary address.)

For images, you should see a red ‘X’ beside your images when you scroll over them, which is what you click to delete them.

    Hi,

thank you, I did that, but not knowing how it all worked, I cannot now access the old email address and a gravatar image attached to it! I would like to remove the gravatar image and then close the account.

OK, I am trying to work this out. Pls be patient. I have a public profile on gravatar that is stuck on an old image probably related to the original email address that I used. I cannot now change this public image, despite the fact that I have uploaded a new image. The one shown now. The old image also shows on my website/blog, not the new one. The new image (the one seen) is related to a new email address I used as a primary email address (and can’t remember how I changed that now on gravatar). So I don’t understand how this works or how to solve it.

Can you log into both gravatar accounts with the email addresses associated with them?

The gravatar that shows up on any site is going to be the one connected with the email address you used for that site. So if you used the old email address for your blog, then the gravatar associated with the old email address will show. The easiest solution is to log into the old gravatar and add the new photo. It’s not the end of the world to have two gravatar accounts for two email addresses, just inconvenient.

But it sounds like you might want to consolidate your two gravatar accounts. Is that it? I think this might work:

    a) log into your old gravatar account associated with your old email address.

    b) add a new email address to that account, and then select ‘Make Primary.’ (This will free up your original address to be deleted, because you can’t delete it while it’s the primary address. You may have to set up a throwaway address to do this, if you don’t have a third, unused one handy.)

    c) Select your old email address and click ‘Delete this email address.’

    d) Log into your new gravatar account with your new email address, and add the old email address to that account. Consolidated!
