Removal of Reblog Comments Posted on Author Page's

Unfortunately I couldn’t think of a better way to word my title so I’m hoping I can explain my idea a little better in detail.

I think the reblog feature is a fairly nice idea. I know I have enjoyed sharing other bloggers I follow and their topics with my readers, but what I do not enjoy so much about when I reblog is that the initial comment I can write in the comment box to go with it before submitting it for “Repost/Reblog” on my own forum, is also posted on the author’s original post.

Since I often write my comment as an address to my readers, to me it appears kind of “tacky” not to mention isn’t quite contributing to the conversation of the original topic. I don’t mind if the author knows I reblogged their work, that’s not the issue I have. My issue is strictly with the fact I’d have to pretty much re-word what I want to say to my readers as a commentand that also looks kind of tacky.

Not to mention it looks like you are only seeing “half” a conversation which would leave people going, “Huh?!”.

For now, I just leave the comment section “blank” so that the original content creator doesn’t “have” to look at my weird, out of place, address to my readers and I just go back and edit the post later to add in my thoughts to go with.

So there you have it. That is my suggestion. To find a way to still let other WordPress bloggers know when their work is reblogged with maybe a link to the site that is sharing it (if you want, doesn’t matter to me) and let my comment I add to the reblog stand on it’s own just on my page, not on the author’s original post.

I really hope I explained that well and if you have a question or want me to try and re-explain again, let me know.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Seconded. The reblog feature needs work. It would be great if OUR initial remarks were the first text shown on the main page of our blogs, instead of the reblogged content, as well.

lol Thank you Raincoaster, I think you were able to word that better and far more simply as I had wanted to originally.
