Removal of Visual Editor Toolbar.

The Visual Editor toolbar buttons … How do we get it back? As writers, having it handy has been wordpress’s best feature in my opinion.
If you are going to remove such a key function, at least tell us properly how to get it back. If you want to the minimalist “distraction-free” look it should an option during creation of the template, – the removal of the toolbar which is absolutely crucial to us writers like us who use Visual Editor mode is crippling, horrific. One of the reasons why we chose wordpress was because there was no necessity to use html code. Now that the toolbar has been removed, I have not been able to blog at all or use wordpress at all. Your notice was also insufficient …”The Visual Editor toolbar stayed up top, which was handy if you wanted to add a picture or a link, but was a little bit distracting because of the colors.” was all you told us. What am I supposed to do now? All the dragging around is awful and what do you mean by new look or new icons. PLEASE restore the editor toolbar at once! Very irate and crippled user for the first time, until now wordpress has been wonderful. But now it feels like it’s gone to the dogs!

We haven’t removed the Visual tool bar at all. It’s still visible in the normal writing interface and appears in the new distraction free interface when you move your mouse.
If you’re stuck in the distraction free interface, you can get out of it via the “Exit Fullscreen” link.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. But your reply doesn’t make sense. There is no “Exit Fullscreen” link as far as I can see. Where is it supposed to be? Also I have moved my mouse all over the screen and the Visual tool bar doesn’t appear at all. All that remains there are the ” Add image / video / add audio / add media / add poll / add a custom form buttons – and all of which I never use – except the add image function.
I am using the Chrome browser by the way.
Clicking on the “screen options” doesn’t seem to do anything.

In that case, it’s actually a glitch or a bug, not something that we did intentionally.
Can you please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies?

Your instructions worked! The visual editor toolbar’s back. Thanks for fixing the glitch/bug.
ONE MORE QUESTION though, is “exit fullscreen” link the same as “Toggle Fullscreen Mode”? If the former, I still can’t find it. If the latter, I’ve got it.
Thanks, irate no longer, sorry for premature accusation … I really thought “distraction-free” meant disappearing all the function buttons. The mysterious disappearance of the buttons just sort of coincided with feature’s release.
