Remove a line in the twenty-ten theme

    Is there a way to remove this line that shows up at the bottom of posts using the Twenty-Ten theme?

    “This entry was posted in Landlords and tagged rental, Palm Beach County, pet friendly, landlord. Bookmark the permalink. Edit”

    I have the CSS upgrade, but not a clue where/how to find that embedded line and delete it or if it’s even possible.

    Totally lost ……..

    Add this to your custom CSS

    .entry-utility {display:none; }

    One other note. CSS is done differently at wordpress.com. You don’t actually “edit” the existing CSS. What you are doing is creating a separate additional CSS file with your changes or additions in it that overrides the like selectors and declarations in the original CSS.

    Clear out all the informational text in the CSS edit window and paste in the above code, and then for making other changes, you will paste in ONLY the specific selectors and the specific declarations you are changing or adding.

    Also with the “preview” function it has been flakey lately so if you use the preview and don’t see the change, force refresh the preview page. That will typically get the changes to show up.

    Just when you think you have something fixed ….

    The line in question was removed which was cause for turning cartwheels, but in it’s place there is now this:
    ====================
    Possibly related posts: (automatically generated)

    Foreclosure rights often unknown to Michigan renters
    Renters in Foreclosed homes have rights too
    Press Release.
    ====================
    Those are active links that take the viewer off site. So where the heck did that come from and how the heck do I make it go away? (I have whiteout as a last resort).

    Go to appearance > extras and disable the automatically generated posts. Make sure and save.

    Do you perhaps mean the option that reads as follows?

    Hide related links on this blog, which means this blog won’t show up on other blogs or get traffic that way

    Unfortunately that one isn’t enabled and besides the one above I onlyy have two other options there – the one to make it snow and the one for mobile devices.

    You have to ENABLE “Hide related links on this blog, which means this blog won’t show up on other blogs or get traffic that way”. It is sort of worded backwards. Note the first word is “Hide?”

    Well I hope you got as good a laugh out of that as I did! Sheeesh I feel about as sharp as the edge of town.

    Once again you whoooshed in and saved the day.

    Please know I appreciate your time!

    You’re welcome, and that setting is odd in that it is basically backwards from all other things and is “opt out” instead of “opt in” so you are not the first, nor I suspect the last to get caught by it.
