Remove a portion of the Sela Theme

  I’m new to wordpress.com and am wondering if it is possible to remove everything in between the Navbar and the 3 footer widget areas on the Sela Theme. Basically the main picture and its text.

  Hi, this will remove the content section from the home page only.

  .home .content-wrapper {
      display: none;
  }
