Remove an old site that i don’t own anymore
-
Hi. Years ago, I set up a website. However, I didn’t continue it and I eventually let go of the domain name. Recently, I logged into my WordPress account and saw a new site among my list of sites. Apparently, the old domain name I used to own — which is now owned by someone else — got listed anew in my list of sites. It’s weird because I discovered I can access some parts of the dashboard (of course I didn’t touch it). My questions are: How do I remove that site from my list of sites? Why did it connect to my account? Can the site owner see parts of my dashboard as I can see theirs? Would appreciate any advise. Thanks!

Hi there,
What is the domain?
If it’s one of the two Jetpack sites listed in your account, the only way it would be listed is if you never disconnected Jetpack before the site went offline. That would cause the domain to continue being listed in your account, even though it’s now a different site at the domain, and without the site actually being connected here.

The site is thefilipinowriter.com. Is there a way to remove it from my list of sites? Or should I just leave it alone, since it’s not really connected to my account as you said?

Morning!
Looks like thefilipinowriter.com was originally registered through us back in 2012. The registration expired, the domain was released, and it is now registered through Name Cheap. If you don’t own that domain through Name Cheap then someone else purchased and registered it.

Yes, I mentioned that in my post. I let the domain go and someone else bought it, but now it appears in the list of sites under my account. My question is, how do I remove it? Thanks.
