Remove article from Featured Content

  Hi

  I have a strange issue with featured content. I tagged the article I wanna feature and it looks fine, on top and all. However how do I change the article I wanna feature?

  I removed the “featured” tag and tagged other article but the previous is still there, then I just removed the “featured” tag from all articles and I still have the first article I tagged on top.

  Hi John,

  At the moment, New HomoTic catalog introduction is the only featured post. Are you expecting to see a different post on your front page?

  However how do I change the article I wanna feature?

  Apostrophe 2 supports up to 6 featured posts — any posts tagged with the featured tag will be displayed in the featured content area.

  I just removed the “featured” tag from all articles and I still have the first article I tagged on top.

  If this happens again, please try clearing your browser cache using these steps:

  Solve Common Browser Issues

  Then refresh the page to see if the correct posts are displayed. If not, just reply to me here and I will take another look.

  Hi,
  I had tagged New HomoTic catalog introduction and I removed the tag but the article was still in the front page.

  I tried clearing the browser but nothing changes. However, what I realized was that the changes are made overnight, meaning, if I change the tag in the evening, the changes will be applied the next day. So I did change the tags yesterday after your e-mail and the changes weren’t applied right the way, but when I checked this morning they were there. Maybe it’s just that the changes will be visible within 24hs.

  Hi John,

  Would you mind if I added the featured tag to a different post on your site, so I can test what happens? I will add the tag back to the post it was originally on afterwards.

  Great, thanks! I removed the featured tag from Company data update and added it to New HomoTic catalog introduction — the featured content area updated as expected. Once I’d finished testing, I added the tag back to Company data update.

  Maybe it’s just that the changes will be visible within 24hs.

  You shouldn’t have to wait a while for the change, that should happen once tag is added to the post and it has been saved. When you next change the featured post, try doing a hard fresh in your browser (cmd+shift+R) and see if that helps.

  Hi,

  Thanks for testing. I just removed Company data update and put 3rd Quarter Service Outline. You can check if you want. I did a hard fresh in Chrome for Mac but it didn’t change Company data update is still featured. I’ll try a different computer to check, a Windows.

  Hi John,

  I saw your reply come is as I was logging off for the day yesterday but I was able to check your site quickly — 3rd Quarter Service Outline was displayed in the featured content area.

  The change wasn’t showing for you but it was for me, which suggests the issue could be related to cache rather than the site itself.

  Let let know if you have any luck on a different computer.

  Hi Gemma,
  I’m havng a continuous issue with the featured tag as well. Already had support look into it once.

  Can you look into it for me I added a featured tag to The Time is now and it isn’t working. Ive forced a browser refresh, cleared the cache and checked on other browsers (safari) I’m on windows 10.
