remove author and date from posts
-
I’m using the Prosperity theme. What is the best way to remove the author and date from posts?
If I wanted to do so only for certain categories, would that be possible?

Hi there,
In most of the newer themes Post Details like Author, Date etc. can be removed from Content Options. Your theme Prosperity doesn’t have that option. So, I think CSS is the way.
I am not sure if it is possible to apply this to certain categories via CSS Customization. So, I’ll add modlook tag in sidebar for a staff to respond to this thread.
Even I am curious to know! -
Hi there,
Try adding this snippet to your CSS in customizer:
.entry-meta { display: none; }Let me know if that works for you! Thanks!

Hi, @paloaltomatters,
I’m working on upping my CSS skills and was determined to figure this out based on the categories.
Use the code staff-doublebassd gave you but include the category selector class before it. For example:
.category-uncategorized .entry-meta { display:none; }Replace the uncategorized, above, with the category you wish to replace.
Once you know the category. We can double check the id for it.
Let me know if that works for you.

Yes, that worked.
staff-doublebassd solution removes the author date for all posts and @christinemaze suggestion lets me remove them only for a certain category.
Thanks much!

Yay. Good news, I’m not clueless. ;)
On that note, maybe I’ll just consider it a day. Ha.
Thanks, staff-doublebassd and all! -
Closing thread. @paloaltomatters, if you have any other questions, feel free to create a new thread. Thanks!
