Remove Automatic Text Hyphenation in Safari view: Maisha Theme

    Hi,

    when viewed via safari, my website behaves differently – many of the sentences, page titles and even ecwid shop products appear ‘cut in half’ because the text has been automatically hyphenated at the end of a line. I’ve been told by the support team that this doesn’t happen when viewed in chrome.

    I don’t know at the moment what happens on android phones / tablets, but I’d rather it didn’t happen at all, anywhere!

    Please can this problem be solved with CSS?

    I am using the maisha theme.

    thank you.

    Hey there,

    Please give this a whirl and see if it’s satisfactory solution to your hyphenation question. Let me know how it turns out.

    .entry-content {
    	word-wrap: normal;
    	-webkit-hyphens: none;
    	-moz-hyphens: none;
    	hyphens: none;
    }

    Ah help! Your CSS worked brilliantly as now there are no hyphens on chrome or safari – however I have discovered them on Internet Explorer (Windows) – is there another bit of css I can add to help with this?

    Try adding

    -ms-hyphens: none;

    to that mix.
