Remove background from comments bubble
-
Hi,
I have the Twenty Eleven theme with the premium upgrade, and I edited the CSS to have a color on the “main” background section instead of white. The comment “conversation bubbles,” however, still have a white box around them. Is there a way to remove the white box and make it blend in with the color i selected?I am a complete beginner at CSS, and I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks,

You can accomplish this with the following CSS:
/* Change comment box background color */ #comments #comment-form-comment { background-color: #DEEAF6; }https://bottomlessstomachdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php
http://www.w3.org/wiki/CSS/Properties/background-color

Hi,
Thanks for your response. I entered the CSS you indicated, though it did not seem to make any changes to the comment box.I added it to the first available line in the CSS editor on my customize appearance page. Am I misunderstanding something, perhaps?
Thanks for your time thus far…

@amiegourmet
You’ve deleted your About page, where you had a comment box and could have observed the change.
At present, you don’t have any published Pages or Posts on your site. Once you create them and enable comments, you should see the change.

Hi,
I understand you are directing me to the CSS Customization forum, and I will certainly note to post any questions of this topic in the future there.However, I think we have a slight miscommunication about the element I am trying to change. I’m not talking about the box underneath “leave a reply” on the about page. What I’m seeing is a small conversation bubble or “balloon” on the home page next to the title. It has a white box around the shape of the bubble that I am trying to get rid of.
I only see this icon on my appearance customization page. When I view the blog from the reader, it’s not there. Is this icon something that is only intended for the customization page? It seems to demonstrate the color I have selected for links, because when I hover over it, the color changes.
I hope my explanation makes more sense now…

…I also viewed some other people’s blogs, and the element I am referring to seems to contain the number of comments made on each post, if that helps further…

@amiegourmet
I understand.
You can find out how to manipulate these elements here:

How your site looks in the Reader will not be the same as how it appears when viewed as a regular web page.
If I’ve misunderstood the issue, or if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks, pmciano. I quickly looked over the links you provided me, and they seem to be targeting what I am trying to accomplish. I will give them a try.
I also posted this topic in the CSS customization forums, and have gotten back some replies there as well. It seems there might be several different methods of getting the white box to “go away,” so hopefully one of them will work for me.
Thanks for your help, and I’ll let you know what happens…
