Remove “Blog Archive” in title text
-
How do I remove the text “Blog Archive” in the title text? My blog is in swedish, not in english. It looks silly and it’s of no use at all. It’s not google friendly either. It looks strange in the search results, and when bookmarking my posts.

I’ve edited the text to “Arkiv”, but the title text still say “Blog Archive”.

It says it already. Sometimes you have to do it a couple of times for the widget to save it or wait a few minutes for it to change:

You don’t understand. I want the TITLE of the page to change. The text between the <title> tags.
The TITLE ends up in the search results. It looks strange:

I’ve also tried changing themes, but it didn’t work.
Actually I’m not the only one with this problem:

More: http://www.shorl.com/hibrynadrikatoHowever, the solutions mentioned in those threads are not working for me. I’m unable to edit php-files since I’m using the wordpress interface…

Webbsnack – best suggestion would be to send in feedback asking for the functionality to be added.
I believe that the wp crew have mentioned previously that when language specifics are introduced (for which there is no timescale as yet) then things like this will be changed.
As you know, we can’t edit the themes so there’s no way for you to change it at this time.
Hope this helps.

You can’t remove it. It’s actually hardcoded into the actual WordPress and WorldPress MultiUser code, not any of the themes.

it’s _possible_ you know more than i do, but i think you’re wrong:benevolence doesn’t use it at all.

*chuckle* You try supporting 37 different Open Source projects and see how well you do. :)
It is in the theme, specifically the header.php it looks like for the themes that I can see right off. Best bet would be to submit a Feedback and ask for this. Not sure how staff would feel about this one since they seem to stay away from editing themes unless there’s a need.
Sorry for the confusion. :)
Now you got me wondering what I was thinking about. There’s something I always remove concerning the header when I do a new roll out.

Go to the theme editor
Click Header.php
Find the text “Blog Archive”
Remove the mini string, eg. delete {xxxxxx} , careful do not delete the whole string.
