Remove Comment Options on New Pages

  I am setting up a site on http://www.emersondrivefans.wordpress.com and I do not want comments to be allowed or shown on the new pages. Is there a way to disable these? I feel like I have looked everywhere to remove these, but no luck. I have other sites with wordpress.com and they do not have comment sections (www.sarahbuxtonfans.wordpress.com) — Does anybody have any ideas/advise?

  You can disable comments on specific posts and pages or all future posts and pages following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/

  I checked the guide, and on the page that I am working on, the ‘Discussion’ box that gives you the option to un-check it does not list anything about comments. Mine only lists “Show Sharing Buttons on This Post” — ? I went through and disabled comments everywhere else, but it is still showing the option to post a comment.
