Remove comment section and search function

I am usually not working with wordpress.com sites, but decided to create one to publish some content about me and my company Brandsense.

Hello there,
All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

I believe the only way to get rid of the search icon is to purchase a custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing to hide it or remove it. See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable custom and CSS editing:
