Remove “Comments are Closed” for Bueno Theme
-
I have spent the past two hours researching this to no avail: how on earth can I remove the “Comments are closed” box from the Bueno theme?
Some info:
1) I have done a CSS Upgrade for WordPress.COM;
2) I have read through this link: http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/
3) I know only to add the bare minimum code into the CSS Editor;
4) I have removed every type of commenting option, but just cannot get the box that still says “Comments are closed” removed;
5) I have read through this closely related link: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/360159 (but don’t know if wordpress.org links are even related? I can’t find anything that looks like page.php, etc.)
6) I have read through every thread that has been devoted to BuenoIs this something that is a part of the theme, therefore it cannot be removed?
Thank you in advance for all of your help.

5) I have read through this closely related link: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/360159 (but don’t know if wordpress.org links are even related? I can’t find anything that looks like page.php, etc.)
That link and link and the information at it does NOT apply to wordpress.COM blogs. Please post the URL for the blog in question starting with http://

Timethief, thanks for your reply! Despite all my reading, I am still confused over this .org vs .com thing.
However, a dear friend created this fix by putting this code in the CSS Editor:
#comments {
background-color:#FFFFFF;
border:5px solid #EFEFEF;
position:absolute;
left:-1000px;
margin:0 0 60px;
padding:50px 55px;
}I apologize for not posting my link, it contains my name and I would prefer it not to be google-able here. Thank you!

There is no Staff support for the CSS editing upgrade. There is precious little Volunteer support for it and Volunteers who help those with CSS are unavailable at this time. So you will have to be patient while waiting for them to log in and locate this thread.

@danielledirks: Does your blog have commenting disabled on all posts and pages? I’m asking this because this code wil make the comments section disappear from all posts and pages.
If that’s really what you want, all you had to write instead of that code is:
#comments { display:none; }
PS Your question should have been posted in the CSS section of the forum.

@panaghiotisadam: Yes, the blog has all of the comments off. I had tried exactly what you had posted to no avail. My apologies again for not posting in the correct section… Thank you for all of your help! WordPress has been an adventure today! :)

You’re welcome. And no need to apologize: the meaning of my PS was that since there are very few volunteers specializing in CSS editing, you’re more likely to get a reply soon if you bring your question to their attention by posting in the correct section.
New PS: Tell your friend that you only add the elements you wish to change – no need to repeat the original bg color, border, margin, and padding. (Twice so when you’re talking about a section kicked out of sight!)

Also not to worry about changing the forum on this thread. I flagged it so our Moderators will move it to The CSS Forum.
