Remove "comments are closed" from Site

Hi folks! I’m using the WordPress platform to host a peer-reviewed journal. I’d like to disable comments (i have in fact). I’d also like to hide any mention of comments. Is that possible?
I’d like to hide this phrase on both the home page and on each individual post.I believe I’m using the Inuit theme, and I have the paid upgrade.
I’m willing to change to a few different themes if it makes it easier…Please help! I’m supposed to go live Monday!-Stephen

CSS is theme specific. I see that http://sutherlandjournal.com/ is using the Annotum Sans theme right now, and I didn’t see any ‘comments are closed’ text when I checked it out. Did you still want help with the Inuit Types theme?

I think I’ll stick with the Annotum theme, if possible. I’ve got another question posted about that. I should close this thread until I’m sure I can’t make the other theme work.
Sorry to bother you!
