    The credits must remain or your blog will be suspended – you can add text before or after the credits, that is typically copyright info

    Current Terms of Service:

    11. Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased.

    May I remove the Admin Bar, credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?

    All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the Admin Bar (the dark bar that appears at the top of WordPress.com sites when logged in) as well as credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable.

    You can add something personal to your existing footer if that’s a compromise that works for you, try this out:

    #site-generator {
      width:100%;
    }

    #site-generator:before {
      content:"Do it like this!";
      font-style:normal;
      color:#111;
    }

    I read some others topics too and no where is saying that we are not allowed to remove credits!

    If i buy a domain from wordpress the credits will go?

    PS: The CSS code you gave me is not working!

    The link you’ve posted is for WordPress.org users which has a few differences from WordPress.com – this support page has the main details listed.

    Have you purchased the custom design upgrade? It works for me when I try it out in my test version of your theme.

    No, i didn’t!

    Only when i purchased the custom desing upgrade i am able to remove credits?

    You’re not allowed to remove the credits at all here at WordPress.com, however if you buy the custom design upgrade you can make stylistic changes to your theme.

    This would allow you to add to the credits using the code I’ve posted above. You can even try it out in the customizer to preview the effect before you decide to make a purchase.

    You can also change the appearance of the credits. If you want to make the font size smaller, or reposition it slightly or change the text colour that is also possible within reason. You just can’t remove them or make them too tiny or difficult to read. The key part here from the TOS is as long as it’s readable!

    I see. Thank you very much!

    One more thing, when i scroll down it shows me a bar where is the name of my website on the left and on the other site are WordPress credits.

    There is any option for this or it depends from the theme?

    The position of footer credit links for the theme page link and for the hosting link varies from theme to theme.

    In general, the theme and WordPress credits are in the footer area, but in some themes, they are at the bottom of the sidebar area.
