Remove credit card details for initial upgrade

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
    I used my credit card for the initial purchase of a domain name on a community website. I am no longer involved with the group and I do not want my credit card available as for funding domain name renewal again next year.

    I have disabled auto renew – however, I see that someone can easily just switch that back on.

    I would like to remove the credit card details.

    At present, you are the owner of this Upgrade. No other user of the site can renew, cancel, or change its auto renewal status except you.

    Let us know if you have any more questions.

    They can if they log into WordPress as powerstownallotments. I used my personal card to buy the domain. I don’t want anyone to be able to reuse it. So the person who takes over from me can just reuse my card in my absense by enabling auto renew.

    I want to disassociate my personal credit card. I don’t want it used ever again on this website. Can you please confirm that my credit card details are removed. I do not authorise the card to be used again.

    Just to confirm, multiple people log in as powerstownallotments. It is a community website. I am resigning. So I don’t want.one of the other people turning auto renew back on and my card being debited again next year.

    Hi,
    Can you please answer my question?

    “I want to disassociate my personal credit card. I don’t want it used ever again on this website. Can you please confirm that my credit card details are removed. I do not authorise the card to be used again.”

    I need to know the answer to this. Is wordpress.com storing my credit card details??

    What do I need to do to get my details deleted from the system??
    It would be a shame to have to delete the website for this reason, but if I do not hear back then I take for granted that wordpress.com will not remove my credit card details.

    You should not be sharing your account credentials with any other individuals, and I advise that you change your account password now:

    Passwords

    Please carefully follow the instructions. You’ll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure that you read it for instructions. If you don’t receive the email right away, check your spam folder, as well, because the confirmation email can end up there.

    Once you’ve reset your account password, you can see our suggestions for choosing a strong password here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/selecting-a-strong-password/

    In regard to your domain issue, I can transfer the site and its associated custom domain to another WordPress.com user account.

    Simply specify the username of the WordPress.com user account you’d like me to transfer this to.

    Keep in mind, if we transfer this, then the new owner will have to update the contact information in order for the domain to be in compliance with ICANN regulations.

    Until the new user does this, we will still have your contact information on record and you will be responsible for the domain. I need you to confirm that you understand this before we can continue.

    The new user can change their contact information by following these instructions:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/#update-contact-information

    Note that once you do the transfer, you will no longer be the owner of your site and domain.

    Also, if you’d like, I can transfer your existing posts, pages, and media to the site’s new owner.

    Just let me know if you’d like me to do so.

    @pmciano

    In today’s world where it seems credit card breaches happen every week is seems – having a “clear credit card details” button would be a nice security addition to here – and that would be an addition you could brag about – some people forget and leave Auto Renew enabled and having a “clear details”would help to reduce the problems with that issue also – no credit card – no charge – seems simple to me

    thanks

    @auxclass

    I understand and will forward your suggestion.

    Thank you for the feedback.

    You be welcome & thanks for passing the idea along

    @pmciano
    I know all about domain registrations. I work in IT.
    I don’t think you are listening to what I am requesting.

    The @Powerstownallotments account is the main account for the domain http://www.powerstownallotments.com. I used my personal credit card as a ONCE OFF for domain registration. I am leaving the powerstown allotments and I want my credit card removed from the account. The domain is registered to Powerstown Allotments, not to me.

    Domain registration and payment information are two separate things. I am once again asking you to disassociate my credit card from this account. I should be able to clear my credit card details from the account.

    If I have to start looking up data protection acts I will. I have the right to have my details removed. Nowhere in your terms of service did it it say that my details would be retained.

    I haven’t asked for any changes to my domain name at all. I just asked you to clear down my credit card details. That is all.

    Why can’t you clear my credit card details

    Please provide a phone number or direct line for a manager who can assist me on this. I amn’t going to back down on this.

    Can this thread be deleted? It is being spidered by the search engines

    So you can delete it, but you won’t.

    The thread clearly shows how WordPress.com is retaining customer’s credit card details without notifying them at the time of purchase.

    It would be in your interest not to have this spidered by Google.
