Remove Domain Mapping
-
Hi I’m trying to take the domain mapping off of my blog so that I can access my self hosted website.
I’ve cancelled the subscription but I need the mapping to come off ASAP
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think the domain you’re looking at is stephaniemarksbooks.com.
https://www.whois.com/whois/stephaniemarksbooks.com
This is pointed at InMotion Hosting, and I see a WordPress.org site when I visit that URL. This is usually a caching issue, that you’re still seeing the old site because you’ve visited it at that domain name before. Try clearing your cache to see the change, and keep in mind that it can take up to 72 hours for DNS to propagate completely.
Nothing else to do in WordPress.com to make that change happen on your own screen at this point! Hope that helps.

Thanks very much! I’ve been freaking out a bit. I cleared my cache earlier but it didn’t work. It keeps redirecting me to my .wordpress.com site and I haven’t been able to access WordPress.org (aka self hosted) admin panel because it keeps taking me to the WordPress.com admin

Hey question. When you type in Stephaniemarksbooks.com is it redirecting you to brainwashinc.com?
-
I’m taken right to the .org install you have started with the boldgrid theme at http://biz179.inmotionhosting.com/~steph164/.
-
Since that’s the current URL of the site in the WP settings, try using http://biz179.inmotionhosting.com/~steph164/wp-admin to access your site while the DNS changes over completely.

Ugh this is so frustrating. So it’s show my random half finished website on the temporary domain? Something got completely buggered in the transfer. And tech support can’t fix it and for some reason I can’t even see my domain to even know what my site visitors are seeing during this huge mess up

Someone visiting your domain name for the first time sees that site I just linked.
If you transferred things over, did you do that or WordPress.com staff, or your new host?
-
All I did was change the hosting and info at my domain provider and everything went to garbage.

I’m trying to do that now and half the info (all the info I want!) is missing. I was using the Bold Grid trial and it imported just fine info that. But now I can’t get the newly designed pages to export and import into this new site
-
You tried this link? http://biz179.inmotionhosting.com/~steph164/wp-admin
Exporting from here brings the content- posts, pages, media, comments. It does not export the look and feel of the site.
That existing site was set up using the trial URL, so you’ll need to eventually change the site address. https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL
Most help on that site will be something to seek at https://wordpress.org/support or from your host, if they offer it.
