Remove Domain Mapping

    Hello!

    I’ve transferred my WordPress purchased domain to GoDaddy and would like to remove my WordPress domain mapping, as the domain still forwards to the WordPress blog.

    I believe I correctly changed the CNAME records on GoDaddy and waited about 50ish hours and it still hasn’t taken affect.

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

    I’ve canceled the domain mapping from your site. You need to add GoDaddy’s nameservers on your domain (from your domain registrar’s website) to stop pointing it to WordPress.com.

    Feel free to let me know if there’s anything else you need and I’ll be happy to help.

    I deleted my site on WordPress because I thought it would delete domain mapping. Now I can’t edit anything. What should I do? I’d like alexalbers.com to go to the Squarespace account I’ve set up instead of WordPress.

    @imalexalbers

    Your domain was not registered at WordPress.com. You just mapped it to your WordPress.com site with that domain mapping. I can see you’ve canceled it already. I’ve refunded the $13 you paid for the domain mapping.

    If you’d like to use the domain with your squarespace account, you can contact Squarespace for their nameservers and add it to your domain. Your domain is not registered with us so you’ll need to make the changes where you’ve registered it.

    In short, you won’t have to do anything on WordPress.com to have your domain pointed to squarespace.

    Thanks!

    Hi manikant27,

    I’ve removed the expired domain mapping upgrade from your site. If you want to register or map a new domain, please go to http://wordpress.com/domains
