Remove Domain Mapping

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I have deleted my blog http://opentextiles.wordpress.com but it’s still liked with http://opentextiles.org. I need to remove it, but in my purchases just appears grey fills of color and no options to remove the domain mapping.

Thanks Timethief, should I wait for an answer from moderators here or start a new post now that the tag is added?

  • Hi there,

I have removed the domain mapping from your deleted site, so you should be able to map that domain to a different site now if you want.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi, thanks for the answer! But it seams that the domain has been removed, but I still get a message that said:
“Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. “

I’m building other site in this domain, and I can’t see my public_html, my host restored the server to his origin, but the message it’s still there. I don’t know if you can do something to fix this, it seams to be redirecting to this wordpress message.

  • Have you cleared your browser cache? Your browser might still be redirecting to the cached IP address of that domain, leading to WordPress.com.

That domain is no longer connected to any WordPress.com site or account, so there is nothing more that we can do, as we have no access to that domain.

Are you trying to use that domain with a WordPress.com site or a self-hosted site?

If you are trying to use it with a new WordPress.com site, you will first need to buy a mapping upgrade for that site, and set the domain’s name servers to WordPress.com, just like you did the first time.

If you are trying to use it with a self-hosted site, you will need to get the correct name servers from your web host and change them with your registrar.

For help getting your domain connected to a self-hosted site, please contact your web host’s support team or post in the WordPress.org forums, as we cannot help you with that here.
