Remove domain mapping

I’d like to remove my domain http://www.protect500lives.com for I am using it to a different site. Please help.

Hello, please ignore my previous message. I already figured out how to do it. The site http://www.protect500lives.com is now mapped to the correct site. Thanks!

Hi. I need to remove domain mapping of applesutra.com as I want to shift it to wordpress.org.
I have installed WordPress through BlueHost for this domain but I am not able to access the backend as when I type http://applesutra.com/wp-admin it redirects to https://applesutrablog.wordpress.com/wp-login.
Please look into it on priority. Thanks.

Hi @applesutra,
I had a look at your domain – http://applesutra.com – and I can see a self-hosted site displaying at that address. If you’ve only just changed the name servers it can take up to 72 hours to update around the world. Try clearing your browser cache.
I’ve also checked our system and this domain is not mapped to any WordPress.com sites.

Hi Rachel. Thanks for the response.
Yes, I changed the name servers to shift the site to wordpress.org. However, I am still not able to access the site or its WP admin. It gives security error all the browsers that I have tried.
Someone in this forum had mentioned that SSL certificate is needed after domain mapping is disabled to run the site properly with self hosting. Is that the case?
Till yesterday the domain was mapped to applesutrablog.wordpress.com.

Forgot to mention one thing, whenever I try to open http:/applesutra.com all browser automatically redirect to https version and shows security error because there is no SSL installed yet. At the same time I am able to open the http version of the test site (http://applesutra.co.in) without any errors.
Is this happening because my site was first running with https when it was mapped to the wordpress.com blog?

I can see a “Website Coming Soon” message when I go to http://applesutra.com. You’ll need to check with your new host about the SSL certificate. That’s outside our scope of support – we provide support for WordPress sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com. For self-hosted sites you’ll need to visit the WordPress.org forums or ask your host:

I understand. Will take up the issue with the hosting company.
One last request. Can you please help me migrate stats from my old blog (applesutrablog.wordpress.com) to self hosted applesutra.com (I have setup wordpress on it and it’s operational now). I have also connected the two blogs through Jetpack.
Thanks again for the quick replies.

Yep, I can definitely help you with this. I’ve had a look and can see the site is connected via Jetpack. You can now use the Jetpack subscriber migration tool. Sign into the WordPress.com Dashboard then go to Settings > General:
https://wordpress.com/settings/general/applesutra.com
At the very bottom click “Migrate followers from another WordPress.com blog” and follow the instructions on-screen.
There are full instructions here:

I am getting the option to migrate followers from applesutraold.wordpress.com. This was just a dummy site that I had created from my personal WordPress account.
I want to move stats from applesutrablog.wordpress.com. This is the site on which applesutra.com domain was mapped. I am seeing this domain in my sites but not getting it as an option to migrate subscribers.
Also, will migrating subscribers also migrate the visitor/view stats? If not, how can I shift those as well.
Thanks

Ok, the problem is because this site – applesutrablog.wordpress.com – is owned by a different WordPress.com user. You’ll need to sign out of WordPress.com by going to the Account Settings page – https://wordpress.com/me/account – and clicking “Sign Out” then sign in again to the correct account. I can’t tell you the username and email address of the correct account but you can reset the password here:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
You’ll also need to connect your self-hosted site to the same account.
Regarding the stats, I can merge the stats for the two site but I’ll need the request to come from the owner of the account first.

I’d like to remove my domain delftbigband.co.za for I am using it to a different site. Please help. My blog is delftbigband.wordpress.com

Hi,
I’d like to remove the mapped domain Lingohost.ie from the site https://lingohostdotie.wordpress.com/
The domain was bought from a separate company and I’ve changed the DNS but still seems messed up?
Paul.

@delftbigband – I’ve just removed the domain mapping subscription from your account. You’ve also got the Premium subscription but I can see you have a self-hosted site now – http://delftbigband.co.za. Would you like to make this a Jetpack Premium subscription instead? Jetpack is a plugin for self-hosted sites which gives you some of the features you had at WordPress.com. The Premium version comes with extras like daily sites backups, security scanning, and Akismet anti-spam. Let me know if you want to do this and I’ll help you get it setup.

@lingohostoliviagmailcom – I’ve checked your account and the domain mapping for lingohost.ie has been removed now. Do you still need a hand?

I’d like to remove the mapped domain from lila-hopp.ch.

Please remove the mapped domain of swatt-design.co.uk for swattdesign.wordpress.com
Thanks

@lilahopp
I don’t see any domain mapping upgrades in your account.@projectxix19
I’ve cancelled and refunded your domain mapping upgrade.@swattdesign
Your domain mapping is part of a Premium Plan. Do you want to remove only the domain mapping, or the entire plan? Note that we’re not able to refund the plan any more. -
Please can you remove the mapping for domain http://www.mpbuildingsolutions.co.uk?
Thanks
