Remove Domain Mapping

11-17-16 Staff Edit:
A NOTE TO EVERYONE:
You do not NEED to cancel Domain Mapping in order to point your domain to a new webhost. All you need to do is log into your domain registrar and change the nameservers to the values your new webhosts gives you. Then wait 24-72 hours for that change to take effect. There is nothing about WordPress.com Domain Mapping that controls your use of the domain. The only thing that points your domain to WordPress.com is if you continue to use WordPress.com nameservers.
Now, you should of course cancel Domain Mapping so that you do not get charged for a renewal of an upgrade you no longer need (and you can do that with these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/ ).
Thank you,

Hi,
I cancelled my subscription to map http://www.ducksnpucks.wordpress.com with http://www.ducksnpucks.com
I still get an error message about the DNS settings. If there something else I need to do?
I already forwarded http://www.ducksnpucks.com to another website.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m seeing ducksnpucks.com point to a non-WordPress.com site. So it looks like you have sorted this out. Let me know if you have not.

Hello, I ask to remove domain mapping from paarapo.com but visitors to the blog still receive error messages.
-
-
Still showing the following:
Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
-
I deleted my site https://djlivbignami.wordpress.com but I see the name in the search of google, is possible to delete in the search for google?
-
That means you have not changed the nameservers to point to your new webhost. The domain is still pointing to WordPress.com. You will need to log into your domain registrar and make that change.

It can take some time for Google to update its index, and WordPress.com doesn’t have any control over this. Over time, Google’s crawlers will realize that your site is gone and Google will update its listings. You can read more about how this works here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
You can try to speed things up by requesting a site removal from Google search results by following the instructions here:

Hello! I need to remove domain mapping for http://www.sopimusjuristit.fi which leads to http://lakiasiaintoimistolaw1.wordpress.com – could you please remove the mapping so that I can re-map it to a new blog?
-
It looks like you were able to get this sorted out. Let me know if not.

Hi, want to unmap domain for http://www.accentlintzel.com and map to http://www.accentlintzel.wordpress.com. Can you remove mapping so I can re-map? Thank you.
The first site is just not working, I can’t access the admin. page to make changes so I prefer to use the second one. Will buy a new domain after a refund of the old domain and site which I upgraded today.

Hi, I need to remove domain mapping for http://www.shengwangart.com, which still map to http://shengwangart.com.wordpress.com. after I canceled my upgrade subscription and deleted my site.
Please help!
Thanks!

@accentlintzel
Did you still want someone to do this? I’m not sure how I missed your reply. Please post again to confirm.
-
Domain Mapping is canceled on our end and I am seeing shengwangart.com point to a non-WordPress.com site.

Hi, I need to remove the mapping of my domain urvifontenot.com. Is there no way for me to do that from the site settings?
-
You do not have a Domain Mapping purchase associated with your account. I see that you canceled mapping and registration for urvifontenot.com on 2016-11-07.

Hi. I need to cancel the domain mapping of roxanab.ro. I am using this domain with another hosting provider. Thank you.
-
The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner of that upgrade.
Typically this happens because you ended up with a second WordPress.com user account at some point and THAT account is the one that was used to purchase the upgrade. You will need to log into that second account in order to cancel the upgrade.
