Remove Domain Mapping
-
I cancelled my wordpress account, it was one I was paying for. I own my domain through godaddy.com and would like to forward it back to my website and away from wordpress. This is the error I keep getting
Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
When I log in to my wordpress account there is nothing there, I deleted the site. How do I get my web address http://www.sugarcrushbakerymi.com to forward back to my current website http://www.sugarcrushcustomcookies.com and stop giving me the WARNING! I did update the forwarding inmy godaddy admin panel so it is now going where I want it to but I still get the error when I type http://www.sugarcrushbakerymi.com

That is the message you get when your domain still has WordPress.com nameservers but you have canceled the Domain Mapping upgrade.
I am seeing sugarcrushbakerymi.com point correctly to your new webhost.
It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency.

Originally i created my website, kujobeefmuffin.com on GoDaddy… I then decided to switch to WordPress.com. The domain is mapped in WordPress and I deleted the domain on GoDaddy… but when i go to kujobeefmuffin.com it shows it as a GoDaddy website and does not display kujobeefmuffin.wordpress.com. I’m thinking I did something wrong in the setup. I would like to be able to use kujobeefmuffin.com as the web address…

You will need to set up Domain Mapping to use your domain with your WordPress.com site:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Domain Mapping is included with all of the WordPress.com Plans:

Hi,
I would like to remove http://www.brainfuzz.me as a mapped domain for https://brainfuzzme.wordpress.com please.
I have cancelled the mapped domain with the host but can’t seem to remove it from my domains dashboard in WordPress.
Thanks.

You are going to need to talk to your registrar because something is still pointing that domain to WordPress.com. Ask them if there are custom A-Records set up.
We have no control over that as the domain was not registered here.

A NOTE TO EVERYONE:
You do not NEED to cancel Domain Mapping in order to point your domain to a new webhost. All you need to do is log into your domain registrar and change the nameservers to the values your new webhosts gives you. Then wait 24-72 hours for that change to take effect. There is nothing about WordPress.com Domain Mapping that controls your use of the domain. The only thing that points your domain to WordPress.com is if you continue to use WordPress.com nameservers.
Now, you should of course cancel Domain Mapping so that you do not get charged for a renewal of an upgrade you no longer need (and you can do that with these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/ ).

The only option I can find to cancel domain mapping looks like it cancels my premium subscription as well. Is it possible to remove the mapped domain without cancelling my subscription?
Thanks.
