Remove domain mapping

  • Unknown's avatar

I mapped surprisingedge.com before realizing that I can’t use http://www.surprisingedge.com. I couldn’t find any way to change or remove it, so I added blog.surprisingedge.com instead, but now I’m paying an extra $17 I didn’t want to.
Can you please remove the surprisingedge.com mapping and refund the $17?
    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

    I mapped surprisingedge.com before realizing that I can’t use http://www.surprisingedge.com

I’m not sure what you mean with that. Is the problem that you can’t use the “www”? If so, it doesn’t make any difference. surprisingedge.com and http://www.surprisingedge.com are exactly the same – either will open your site if you map your domain to us. We just don’t display the “www” on domains mapped to WordPress.com.

Can you please remove the surprisingedge.com mapping and refund the $17?

There is no domain mapping for surprisingedge.com on your account. It looks like you already cancelled and refunded that yesterday.

I wasn’t able to use “www.surprisingedge.com” because I want to be able to have “surprisingedge.com” point to something other than WordPress.

You are correct that it’s removed and refunded, but I’m completely confused how that would have happened. I wasn’t able to find any means in the admin panel to do it. Did someone else on your end do it without commenting here? In my account history I see the additional $17 charge, followed by a $17 refund.

  • It looks like a colleague of mine refunded it to you, though I can’t see a ticket where you asked them :)

But as long as you’re happy with the way things are set up now.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
