Remove domain mapping / domain availability
-
Hi,
In April 2017, I bought the domain daytimepaws.co.uk with Godaddy, and I had it mapped with my wordpress premium account blog for 3 years.
I planned to use a different registrar (OVH) as soon as my 3 years subscription with Godaddy would come to its end (April 202). Therefore I transfered the domain to OVH before the deadline, waiting to be able buy the domain again from OVH.co.uk just after.
The domain has indeed been registred with ovh.com, but unfortunately I haven’t be able to buy it back, and it keeps showing as ‘unvailable’
I’m wondering if that’s because the domain is still mapped to a wordpress blog?
I’ve tried to undo it but I can’t find anything in my wordpress panel. When going to daytimepaws.co.uk, it shows the following message with a link to a WordPress login.
“Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.”Also, the who.is report for daytimepaws.co.uk shows wordpress as name servers (see below)
This is all very blurry for me, can you please let me know if that’s something wordpress can help with?
Cheers

Hi,

Where your domain is pointed shouldn’t have anything to do with it, but here’s the issue:
Data validation:
Nominet was not able to match the registrant’s name and/or address against a 3rd party source on 08-May-2020It means your address / contact info is not verified. You should have an email verifying your contact information.
If you can’t find that, get in touch with OVH. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your answer @supernovia :)
It means your address / contact info is not verified. You should have an email verifying your contact information.

If this an email I should have gotten from the first registrar (Godaddy in this case), I’m afraid I don’t have that.
What I do have is the original receipt (from when I bought the domain name 3 years ago, showing my details, the domain name, and the mention the 5 years term) and multiple email communications about the domain. Am I wondering if those could constitute enough of a proof of ownership for OVH to let me buy my domain again without having to 2 years before it gets available again?

Hey there,
I’m not familiar with OVH’s policy in regard to the forms of proof they would accept, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt to ask. I would provide all the information you have regarding the term and hopefully, they will be able to assist you.
Thanks!

Thank you staff-doublebassd :)
I’ll gather all the documents I can and see what they can do.
Wish me luck :)
