Remove domain mapping on account temporarily
-
We have a working site at hostgator under brunospov.com. I don’t know how it happened but the new wordpress.COM account we want to use, brunospov.wordpress.com has been mapped to brunospov.COM so I’m unable to manage the theme, import posts etc. Can you please remove the mapping?
We’ll add it back once the site at WordPress.com is ready to go, and point the domain name via Hostgator to the name servers you provide.

HI there,
brunospov.com has never been mapped to any site on WordPress.com, and neither its name servers nor IP address is pointing to us. The site, brunospov.wordpress.com, does not even exist, so it’s impossible that your domain could have been mapped to that site.
What exactly makes you think your domain is mapped to WordPress.com? http://brunospov.com/ is loading a self-hosted WordPress site for me, not a WordPress.com site.

Because there is an account in wordpress.com with the login brunhub and when I go to ‘my site’ in the top left, but when I try to customize the theme it takes me to brunospov.com/wp-admin, and the theme has been installed there. How is that even possible?
I think perhaps we need to delete this wordpress.com account and set up a new one. I am creating it for Bruno – can I set it up under one of my email addresses and change the email later for Bruno’s?

The site at brunospov.com is a self-hosted site using the WordPress.ORG software It is not a WordPress.com site. Your site is installed on NameCheap’s servers, not ours, and is using a completely different version of the WordPress software.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org
brunospov.com is not the same as brunospov.wordpress.com. brunospov.wordpress.com did not exist until you registered it 14 hours ago, after my previous reply.

It’s not possible to delete a WordPress.com account, but I don’t see why you want to do that either. You have now registered brunospov.wordpress.com, so you can access it by clicking on My Sites and do everything you need to do from there. You can also access the WP-Admin dashboard for this site at brunospov.wordpress.com/wp-admin. This is a completely different dashboard than the one you’re accessing at brunospov.com/wp-admin
